IT'S ABOUT TIME TO GIVE THIS A TRY! SO STAY TUNED FOR AN ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT A RIDE ON JUNE 3!!

As you know, the state has begun to relax some of the restrictions that have prohibited us from meeting on a weekly basis for our ROMEO gathering at a local restaurant. As the size of gatherings is gradually increasing to a level that more easily accommodates the typical size of our group, the rest...

Re: Berkley Spring & Cumberland, MD 5/4/20

I didn’t know that was how Honda secured tires to the rim. My Indian still requires that I maintain proper air pressure! (or at least it did the last time I rode it!)

Spring Rendezvous Cancelled

Most of you may have seen this announcement somewhere else but I thought I'd pass this along from an email I received from Randy today: The Spring 2020 Romeo Rendezvous has been cancelled. At this time there are no plans to reschedule. Lets hope we get control of this virus and can return to gettin...

Re: What ya doing

I did make you a bologna sandwich Bucky! I just put it out on the front porch and thought you’d come by and pick it up. It’s still there but I think you’d better pick it up by the end of the day today because the sun has been hitting it all morning. I went out to sit on my bike this morning and dec...

Re: Mick?

Linda, Thanks for asking. I did fall outside while working on my deck in early December. I broke a couple of ribs, completely tore my rotator cuff, lacerated my scalp and broke my wrist and hand. My wrist and hand just came out of the cast and I had shoulder surgery on Jan. 13. I am doing therapy on...

Lunch 11 AM, Dec. 4, Froggy’s, St. Mary’s, KS

I don’t know what yesterday seemed like to you but it sure didn’t seem like Friday to me so I just flat out didn’t think about setting up next week’s ride. But I did think about it today and what I came up with was ok with them so I hope it’s ok with you. They are open early but switch over from br...

RIDE REPORT: SMOKED CREATIONS, Ottawa, KS

This won't be a long report. I got caught up visiting and neglected to take many pictures so this will be short and sweet. I didn't know how many would show on the day before Thanksgiving but I think we ended up with 18 ROMEOS today, with 11 or 12 motorcycles in the parking lot. It was a bright, su...

Lunch 11 AM, Nov. 27, SMOKED CREATIONS, Ottawa, KS

It's awfully close to Thanksgiving but some of us might need an excuse to get away for a quick ride to miss hearing "honey, would you go down to the storeroom in the basement and bring up the..."! You won't get out of it, but you might be able to put it off for a few hours. And since it's...

RIDE REPORT: Nov. 20, Big Bertha's Diner, Eskridge, KSthu

Although the weather wasn't quite as nice as Tuesday, it was still a nice day to ride, especially for late November. The day started out in the high 40's and warmed up into the high 50's although the wind out of the south certainly got your attention at times with gusts as high as 30 mph. But still...

It's not often that you get a forecast of sunny with a high of 61 in late November so you might want to consider wheeling out the ride for lunch. Although this week's destination is an occasional pie stop, we haven't been here for a lunch meeting since June of 2017 and I'm not sure why. The hamburg...

RIDE REPORT: Nov. 13, Four Corners Restaurant, Scranton, KS

I don't think that any rational person that woke up this morning and looked out and checked the temperature and saw it was 26 degrees with brisk winds out of the south/southwest would say to themselves, "I think I ought to get out my motorcycle and ride to lunch!" But there were 6 of us i...

ANNUAL WEBSITE MAINTENANCE AND UPDATE

As you may be aware we have collected money on an annual basis to support maintenance of the website and have made that payment every fall. I have coordinated that effort since Roger Shores moved to Virginia. In the past we would start collecting in the spring and finish up in the fall to insure th...

Lunch 11 AM, Nov. 13, Four Corners Restaurant, Scranton, KS

The good news is that it is supposed to be sunny. The bad news is a low of 19 Tuesday night and temps that might reach 42 by Wednesday afternoon. So meeting for lunch at Four Corners sounds like a winner because if we meet at 11 it just might be warm enough to ride if you feel like it, but if not i...

WOW! What a gorgeous day to ride! It was almost 70 degrees and sunny on the ride home so I hope you enjoyed it. It may be a while before we have another riding day like this one. There were 33 ROMEOS at Bobcats today. Although we had some service issues since it took a while for everyone to get ser...

Lunch 11 AM, Nov. 6, Bobcats Bar & Grill, Ozawkie, KS

I think everyone really likes going to this place so I was surprised when I checked and the last time we were here was in May 2018. It looks right now like a pretty decent riding day next Wednesday with sunny skies and a high near 50. There are some fun roads to ride in the area around this restaur...

RIDE REPORT: Oct. 30, Tammy's Billard Airport Cafe, Topeka, Ks.

Lovely day for a motorcycle ride and 2 ROMEOS thought it was a great idea (Larry 3 and me!). 12 others thought it might be more prudent to arrive in a cage. The ride out was pretty decent but by noon the wind had started whipping around pretty good and a few little white frozen water things were st...

LUNCH 11 AM, Oct. 30, Tammy's Billard Airport Cafe, Topeka, Ks.

It's been about a year and a half since we met here, but everyone really seemed to like it. As I recall, the food was excellent here and it was fun to watch planes come in and out if you ran out of something to talk about. Since the weather looks a little iffy this week it might be a good idea to k...

RIDE REPORT: Oct. 23rd Kathy's Kitchen Melvern, Ks

There was a nice turnout today for our meet-up at Kathy's Kitchen in Melvern. At least 34 ROMEOS took advantage of what turned out to be a really nice day to ride. It was chilly early but warmed up into the 60's for the ride home. Don't know how many more of these riding days we'll have this season...

RIDE REPORT: October 16, Flashbacks, Tonganoxie, KS

It was a great day to be a ROMEO! At least that's what 33 folks that showed up at Flashbacks thought. It was a little chilly early but it warmed up nicely and turned out to be a really pretty fall day to ride. Some showed up a little early for breakfast and the rest decided that the chicken fried s...

LUNCH 11 AM October 16, Flashbacks, Tonganoxie, KS

We were here last in early May, we skipped a visit this summer so it's time to hit this place for fall. The weather looks pretty good, sunny with a high of 59, but the low early that morning will be about 37. So it looks like if you wait until a little later in the morning this might be a good time...
