Re: Lunch Reading July 11,2012

"Parkville Rider"] I think you almost had a combined event today as many of the KC group showed up 8-) to enjoy Reta's Miracle Cafe. It's been a while since I'd been down in that country since traveling between Burlingame and Emporia in during my college days, so I was anxious to see how R...

Lunch Leavenworth July 17, 2012

That's right we are having a combined ride with the Kansas City folks again. Two good reasons this time. First being the summer heat and cutting back a little just seems to work. The other reason and actually the real reason is Jerry is going to be here for a visit. For those of you that have been ...

Re: Lunch Reading July 11,2012

A successful day at the Miracle or at least I thought so. It seemed like the Front Porch was the best part. The guys stayed and talked for a long time and that's good. Reta and the Miracle Cafe are a great example of small towns not giving up when there is little reason try. Everything a small town...

Re: July Romeo Lunch

Mostly the Norton wasn't hard to start except when the weather was cooler, the 50w oil had sumped (slowly drain from the oil tank to the crankcase). The engine had to be cranked enough get the oil back to the reservoir before it could be turned fast enough to start. I think most remembered is it's ...

Lunch Reading July 11,2012

Get out your parkas and winter boots it's going to be a high of only 90 degrees. At least that is what the weather man is saying a week before we ride. This has been a scary hot summer for just the first half of it. Here is hoping that the long range of a more moderate summer comes through. There a...

Re: Lunch Eudora July 3, 2012

Once again a great ride and turnout at Cutter's. The food and service were stellar also. I was once told that I should pick out five places to go and rotate among the five. I have no intention of doing that but if I did, this would be one of the five. Of course the problem then would be choosing fo...

Lunch Eudora July 3, 2012

Here we go with a combined ride with the Kansas City bunch. Many of us do family things on the Fourth and it is also a little tricky to find a business open on the Fourth. I ask Roger if we could join in on his ride, he agreed and we picked Cutters both for location, besides Dan and his girls just ...

Re: July Romeo Lunch

I had a bike in the sixties called a Norton Wrangler. My guess the name was for U.S. sales. It was one of the Matchless framed Atlas motor combinations. Came from the factory as what was called a "Gentleman's Bike". A large red and chrome tank, moderately rear set pegs, low bars. It was n...

Re: Lunch Easton June 27, 2012

It looked like we had a fair turnout at Easton and the Hill Top today. I was early (for me) and met people leaving. I think there were more for breakfast than lunch. It worked well for the restaurant in that we were spread out enough that they didn't have the big rush. Hope you all had a good ride ...

Re: Lunch Easton June 27, 2012

I checked with Cindy and she starts serving breakfast fairly early. Do to the impending temperatures I am sure some of you will want to take advantage of that. If you eat early it would be nice if you could stick around to visit. However it will get hot early and I understand if you want to get bac...

Romeo Fall Rendezvous Sept. 18-20

Once again Jr. has our Fall Rendezvous on the schedule. I will fill in more details as we get closer. The main event will be on Wednesday Sept. 19. That will be dinner together and then a gathering and general BS session. There are special rates at the Hub so be sure to tell them you are a Romeo wh...

Re: Fall Rendezvous - Any tentative plans yet?

I will post the preliminary on Riding Events. Jr. has things set up and I will get more details from him and get the info on the site. Jr. doesn't use computers, and I forgot to get it started. Thanks for the reminder.

Ok Cathy, I've been out in the barn hunting for the paddle and canoe, Kicker was I told Jerry you were going to the ACE cafe and he had never heard of it. Tempting but just too far to ride.

Re: Romeo Picnic June 20, 2012

I hope all had a good time at the picnic. For those of you that didn't make it you missed out on a nice ride and a good time. I apologize for not being more attentive but I was at a table with guys that I rode with in the '70s and just didn't get around like I should have. But then what is our grou...

Lunch Easton June 27, 2012

One of the advantages of working a couple of weeks ahead of time on where we are going is that I'm not scrambling on the weekend to find a place that can take us. Another advantage is that so many of you cover the Eastern, Southeastern and Kansas City rides it makes it a little easier on whose goin...

As Common as road work

As many of you know, the Romeo website was built the end of 2008. The idea was to be able to end the problems of sending emails. It has worked well and has allowed not only each group to expand, but new groups added as our simple approach to having fun with bikes spread. One of the by products of u...

I know several of us will make this event. I'm not much of a bike show person, hopefully there will be enough vintage stuff there to keep me interested. Of course Tanya did mention food.

Re: Lunch Bern Ks. June 13, 2012

Guys I hope the weather holds and we can have a good ride up to Bern. In all my years of doing this I have never had a business, make that town so interested is us coming. These folks are excited and I do mean excited that we are coming. I had a call from the restaurant owner today that was taken b...
