Re: Lunch 12-29-08

Once again my theory of us being the luckiest people in the world held. I think there was about 22 of us at Burlingame today. I'm pretty sure some drove over from Auburn and there were 19 bikes. Weather was great, for the end of December and roads were good except for a couple of ice patches and of ...

Re: Rides....

This is to share motorcycle experiences and help to connect for future experiences. The site will change over the next few months as we figure out what we want to do, but for now the goal is to give mature riders in this general area a place to meet, share and plan. This is a diverse group with diff...

Lunch 12-29-08

Ok Guys: Lunch at the Santa Fe Cafe in Burlingame ks Monday the 29th. I know it's almost out my back door, but This is a double header for me and needed to be close to make it. I would like to suggest making it around 1200 to 1230 to let the temp come up and clear any ice there may be. That will al...

Re: NEW YEARS DAY

I had thought of sitting something up for Monday if the weather holds. However I did a little quick checking for the 1st

Burlingame is closed, Both Club Four corners and Green Acres will be open. If you want to check a little more I can. What do you think about Monday?

Re: Favorite Place

I was just thinking about the places that have a good outside gathering area. Makes it nice if we can gather in a round group instead of stretching down the street. Easier to slide from one conversation to the next.

I agree Longford is great. Do they still have Mexican on Wed?

Re: Best Ride

Harry and I headed to Alma to eat one day. We finely stopped in Eskridge for lunch as we were very hungry and running out of time. We were never lost, and always knew where we were going, it was just the roads that weren't cooperating. But we saw some interesting places (feed lots), rode some intere...

Re: Larry from the capital city, Topeka

Thanks for the kind words Larry. Jerry has done a fine job with the Romeo site and it is surely going to soak up some of the winter blues.

I will say if the tendency for our riders to keep getting scooters we will have to change the Name to Retired Old Scooter Guys or something.

Re: Introduction

We have met on a couple of ride. I have some thumpers in the barn but I seldom ride one, except for the DR and my wife rides it more than I do. My theory is I don't want all the motorcycles just one of each. But there is something about riding the ols stuff, I know your bike isn't that old, but it h...

Best Ride

What was your best ride of the year, or worst, and why. I think my best one was the last one. A handful of us met at Green Acres for a late breakfast on a Sunday. The weather was predicted to change and it did about four hours early and caught us with a cold front and a 30 degree temp drop. Froze my...

Re: Summer Rides

I would think that 150 miles one way would be about as far as we would want to ride and plan on doing something in the middle and then come home. If an overnight was involved 300 miles after that a second overnight. That's just my thoughts. There is no distance limits as long as those involved agree...

Summer Rides

Ole John and I have discussed a lap around Kansas ride for a couple of years now and never get any farther than talk. The plan was a lap around Kansas visiting interesting things along the way. Spend a week of 300 or so mile days with a museum or historical site in the process. My thoughts now are l...

Guys this looks like it is going to be a success. Jerry did a great job and is still working on it. I'm sure things will change a little as an on going thing. I've sent the invitation out to a few more riders. Enjoy and play around with it. There is a lot of info on the FAQ, Think about Links you wo...
