North Central Kansas Weekly Ride 9/9/20

This one is like a blast from the past. We haven't been here for three years. The name has been changed but the phone number is the same. As I recall they had some really good food and it was a good time. Keep an eye on this one. There may be a major change for this week. THIS RIDE HAS BEEN ...

North Central Kansas Weekly Ride 9/2/20

75* and mostly sunny sounds like a recipe for a great ride for Wednesday. :D It also sounds like a much needed break from the three bikes that I'm elbows deep in. A CX 500 Honda that has a horrible layer of sludge from a multitude of problems that redirected the coolant into the crankcase. :o A Kawa...

North Central Kansas Weekly Ride 8/26/20

Here's a place that has been requested some lately. We were there last fall and next Wednesday looks like a good day for another visit. The weatherman's crystal ball is saying sunny and warm. 95* warm. So bring your sun screen beach umbrellas and lawn chairs. Goldwing riders may even need to turn on...

This week we need to keep an eye on the schedule. I just called to set up with the China Star in Hutch. But they want me to call back on Tuesday to firm it up. At this point I see it as a go but I'll call them on Tuesday just to be sure. So keep an eye on this page for any possible changes. We haven...

North Central Kansas Weekly Ride 8/12/20

This one is a little longer ride than we've done lately, and we haven't been there in over a year. Next Wednesday looks like a good day and I'm looking forward to another good ride. If tomorrow is anything like today we're in for a good ride. After solving all the problems of the up coming election ...

North Central Kansas Weekly Ride 8/5/20

This week I took a slightly different tack in choosing an eatery. Instead of rifling through the archives of where we've been in the past I looked at the map and chose a direction. We haven't been making a lot of trips up north lately and my eyes fell on Scandia. Then it was to the archives and I fo...

Here's a place we haven't been to for quite a while. Closing in on two years. The last time we were there I was on shorty's Goldwing. That's when I was doing hand to hand combat with my silver Guzzi. The clutch episode. Followed by the fuel pump fiasco. Other than that everything went smoothly. I pr...

Here's a place we haven't been to since June of 09. I heard they were closed down for a while but are now open under the same management, and at a new location. I was a little concerned when I got up this morning. Everything was wet and I thought that I might have to take the cage to the world peace...

Update on Richard Kurtz

Richard had a heart cath done on July 6 and they found a couple of blockages, but not enough to put a stint in. So it looks like he will be keeping on and keeping an eye on the situation. The doctors decided to do nothing for now.

Here's a place we haven't been to for a while. It's supposed to be pretty warm Wednesday so this isn't too far. Their special is chicken fried steak. I finally got that 4 wheeler out of my garage. Despite a minor hiccough. It seemed that on start up it was raining oil. I found a gasket that had slip...

Here's a place I've been meaning to get to for quite some time. We've ridden past there a couple of times and somehow never got scheduled. They don't do reservations but said they could handle us. They open at 11:00 so I said we'd be there at 12:00 so they could get some tables together for us. I'm ...

No new information yet. Joyce said she'd call me if anything new came up.

It looks like Wednesday is going to be a scorcher. High 90's There's also a chance of a thunderstorm. 30% I don't worry too much about 30%. This one is only about 40 miles from Salina. It's owned by a very colorful German lady who had a restaurant that we had visited in the past and as I recall it w...

Louie Bigler had a rough day.

I got a call from Louie Bigler this morning. He told me he was out enjoying one of those perfect motorcycling days. Not too hot and little wind. While motoring along enjoying the day, cruise set at 65, he came to a passing lane. In the right lane he was motoring by some tall grass and lurking in the...

Keep Richard Kurtz in your prayers.

I just got word from Joyce Kurtz that Richard is having some health issues. She told me that he had a heart stress test done and the results came back abnormal. He is scheduled for an heart cath. on July 6 in Hutch. A month or so ago he collapsed in the garage and was cold to the touch. He was take...

Here I sit on a dismally dreary Friday afternoon. The only redeeming factor is that I'm saving money by not running the AC. :( After sitting here on Facebook killing off all but my last three brain cells, it hit me that I need to set up a ride for Wednesday. Fortunately I have gotten some good sound...

We've been here twice before. The last time was about a year ago. While we were in Longford I found out they're under new management. Same name and phone number though. The first time we were there, gravity got one over on me and my camera hit the ground. This lead to a fiasco trying to get that pro...

I had a busy day in the garage yesterday and I'm feeling it today. I feel like I've been hit by a truck that backed up to make sure. Between episodes of unconsciousness I managed to get us set up for next week. It's only been about 7 months since our last visit, but it's always been one of my favori...

Well here's an oldie but a goodie. Looking back in the archives it looks like we haven't been here for the better part of a year. As I remember the food is always great and you don't leave hungry. And if you're into cinnamon rolls, they have them the size of man hole covers. They aren't taking reser...
