Re: Problems attaching photos

Ok, I have received several reports that uploading photos is working now. I guess updating to the latest version fixed it. So I have removed this topic as a "global announcement" but I will leave it here in General Discussion for future reference. Please let me know if you see any other i...

Re: Problems attaching photos

As of about 10pm Saturday evening I updated the forums to the latest version, but that did not fix the issue with attaching photos and the HTTP Error. I will try again tomorrow.

Problems attaching photos

Guys, I am currently investigating issues with attaching photos to posts. For some reason, if you try to upload a photo you will get "HTTP Error" after the photo is uploaded but before you submit it. I have contacted support and I am researching potential causes. Sorry for the inconvenien...

Simplistic, yet far reaching

This is a message sent to me thru the contact page of the website, so I am copying it here. The message is from Steve Hinsch and he wrote to me: "Just read the article in September's MCN EDITOR'S LETTERS (September, 2016) from founder Richard Kurtz. Inspiring to say the least. I truly believe ...

Not sure why they appear upsidedown, but what is more interesting is that if you click on them to show them full size they are right-side-up. Very curious - never seen that before.

Re: Update - New changes in the forums

Yes, of course, Richard, and there have been several posts honoring the history of the ROMEOs over the years. Don Duncan was the first that I recall when he wrote a post in 2009 ( http://romeoriders.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=438&p=1056 ). There have been some others as well that I can'...

Update - New changes in the forums (and some history of the Romeos!)

Here is an update on the forums and some changes I just made (if you didn't know, I am the administrator of the forums - send all your questions and requests for password resets to me!). I just added a feature that put stars under your name on the right side - one star for every year that you have ...

Re: Motorcycle Consumer News

A guy contacted me using the contact form on the web site and asked how he could start a Romeo group in Oregon. He said he saw this article in MCN and thought it sounded like a good idea. We emailed a few times and then I called him. His name is Bill Spencer and he lives a little east of Portland, ...

Re: Major Version Upgrade Completed!

I have noticed that and a few people have commented about missing pictures. I don't know why, or how many, or how to fix that. I am just glad the overall process worked and didn't blow up. There are now over 13 gigabytes of pictures in the system! I am going to have to upgrade the hosting service t...

Tapatalk Forum app installed for your mobile phone

People with smartphones use them for more and more as they improve each year. That's a big benefit of the recent update to the forum application here. But there is another specific app for smartphones (iPhones and Android) that allows you to access the forums faster (quicker response) but to manage...

Major Version Upgrade Completed!

Guys, I just updated the forums to a major new version (from 3.0.11 to 3.1.8). I have been procrastinating on this for a long time since it is a "no-fail" event. So I have spent the last several days, nearly full-time, reading and researching, backing up, and converting some of my other w...

Website Maintenance - Tues Dec 8 @ 10:30 pm EST

Guys, Heads up for some website downtime. This will affect anyone online during this brief time. They say it is only 15-20 minutes but you know Murphy's Law. If the website is still down an hour later or the next day you will know why. And since this is the Internet hosting service provider there i...

Norm, Welcome to the Romeo family! Sorry for the confusion in getting your account set up but we got it done. Good luck in getting some friends to start riding with you. As I wrote to you once you have half a dozen or more friends riding with you and signed up here I can set up your own forum for yo...

Re: How to reduce the size of your pics to upload

Yes, Harley Charlie, your process is perfectly acceptable! OMG, 36 meg pics! And 7300px horiz resolution! This is a good example of what I am talking about. A lot of people here don't really understand all this tech stuff, so I want to keep it relatively simple. And most people don't have access to...
