March Romeo Lunch

Greetings to all Romeos everywhere from Blighty, We have finally come out of hibernation, which will probably mean it will rain non-stop all through spring and summer. However, we are going to defy the weather gods and meet on 29th March at http://www.fishermanswharfsouthend.co.uk/ to get some fish ...

Re: October lunch in Essex

Klem we would adopt you any day and would be honoured to do so. Let us know when you are coming over and we'll try and take you somewhere haunted, where Queen Elizabeth I slept, where Guy Fawkes met his fellow Gunpowder Plot cronies or I'm sure if you pick a favourite moment in English history we sh...

July Romeo Lunch in the USA the Brits are coming

The plan is to go by Alice's on the way back to San Francisco after the races at Laguna Seca. That would be Monday 25th July. The restaurant is 80-90 miles from Monterey, depending on the particular route that we take. That would be a natural place for lunch, so let's just plan on being there betwee...

Re: Inaugural lunch for England group

I truly envy you for the places you have to choose from. Nothing better than having lunch with a motorcycle friend unless it is having lunch with a motorcycle friend at a really neat place. Don We are certainly lucky here and my geography is improving with every run. The weather here is amazing rig...

Re: Inaugural lunch for England group

We would love to see you and Dave said he would love a t-shirt and hats would be great too so thanks very much for your offer. You could rent a bike over here but December might be chilly and cold, maybe even snowing so bring the long-johns. We'll try and find somewhere good to have lunch so keep yo...

Re: Inaugural lunch for England group

We are sorry you'll miss the first ride too and hope you had a great holiday in the Cotswolds. Have you read 'Cider with Rosie' as the author, Laurie Lee grew up in Slad not far from Lower Slaughter? Beautiful area especially when the weather is good. Next time go over to Wales and enjoy the biking ...

Inaugural lunch for England group

The day has finally arrived for us to start our round of ROMEO lunches for England, deep in the Surrey lanes near Warlingham, at the White Bear Inn. We've chosen to start at this Inn as it has excellent food, three resident ghosts and a large car park. Outdoor seating is available if the weather's g...

Excellent Cathy Excellent. I think that you joining in with us is one of the best things yet. Not only will it be interesting to see the differences but I am sure it will highlight the similarities in our approach to motorcycles. I will say that I worry about you just a little. I read some thing on...

DUMMY POST

There was an old woman from Surrey, whose bike was exceedingly grubby, the hose that she used, got the dirt off it's true, but now it won't start in a hurry.

Cathy, Welcome to the ROMEO's..... I think it is fantastic that you plan on starting up a ROMEO group in "merry ole" England.... Please keep us posted on how that goes for you. I think you'll find that it mainly requires someone who will take it upon themselves to find and post a destinat...

Let me be the first to welcome you Cathy. Mostly that is because I am an insomniac so one of the first up. Your variety of bikes is similar to mine only you had the good sense to discard the old ones. It will be interesting as we share the similarities and differences of our sport over the coming m...

Re: England calling.

Great story Cathy and good luck with starting up a ROMEOs chapter in England. The history of meeting at Cafes for lunch or coffee is really borrowed from the British café racer history. It’s really a great way to meet other riders. Thanks for the welcome and I'll let you know how we get on when the...
