Re: June 29, 2012, 11:00 am Girard Ks

For 17 Romeos who decided to brave the heat and ride to The Pie Hole east of Girard, KS the reward was a extra good meal with some of the best pie I have ever had. I have always enjoyed going to Cookies in Golden City, MO because of the variety of pie they have available. Today thanks to Grandpa Ja...

Re: 6-22-12 Sidewalk Cafe, Erie Ks

Another good Romeo ride to Sidewalk Cafe in Erie. This place was suggested by Junior's granddaughter Alison last week in Stark. Well around 22 Romeos gathered waiting for the door to open. Alison was right, they had a couple of specials plus other dishes and sandwiches from the menu. Today we had a...

Re: SEK Hit & Miss Next three scheduled rides

Looks like you had a good crowd Friday in Hume. I was unable to attend as Carol and I were spending a few days in Branson at the GWRRA Missouri State Rally. I would like to thank Lloyd for taking pictures for me. See you Friday in Madison. Randy[attachment=10...

Re: SEK Hit Miss May 25 11:00 Mapleton Ks

Off to Mapleton we go! The sky is cloudy as rain showers had just moved through, temprature near 70, light breeze out of the southeast and slight dampness on the road. As we headed south onton Hwy 71 the streets and Highway were dry. There was no rain at all on our trip today. This can't be said by...

Re: SEK Hit and Miss Breakfast Deerfield 5-18 9:30

SEK Romeo ride to Emery's Truck Stop at Deerfield, MO for breakfast was definitely a HIT. Starting out at 8:15 for Deerfield the tempature in the low 60's, clear skies and winds from the south at 7 mph made for a very comfortable 40 mile ride to breakfast. Arriving at 9:15 for a 9:30 breakfast we w...

Re: May 4th White Grill Neveda Mo

Sometimes you find that place that has remained the same for a long time. The White Grill in Nevada, MO opened in 1938 and has continued in operation ever since. The current owners have been involved with the grill for almost 30 years. The gentleman cooking told me he started at the Grill when he w...

Re: May 4th White Grill Neveda Mo

Grandpa Jack Thanks for picking the White Grill as the destination for the May 4 ride. I was born in Nevada and lived there until I was 13. My parents frequented the White Grill before the War (WWII) as it was the place where all the action was. Hamburgers, susie-Qs, chili, hot dogs, malts and milk ...

Cookies is still there. It is still a popular destination for a lot of riders. Same menu and pies they have had for many years. I don't know if organized rides are still running out of Pittsburg on Saturdays like they used to. Still reasonable pricing.
