Re: LUNCH 11 AM FEB. 19, TJ's MAINSTREET GRILL, OVERBROOK, KS

For once my estimate was right since I told them that in the dead of winter we might have around 15 or so unless the weather was really good or really bad then we could have a lot more or a lot less. Which of course is just a roundabout way of saying "we never have a clue" but by chance w...

LUNCH 11 AM FEB. 19, TJ's MAINSTREET GRILL, OVERBROOK, KS

Another that's nearly a year since we've been so it's time to go back. TJ's Mainstreet is a place you might overlook even if you heed the sign that says "Don't overlook Overbrook." It's a small bar & grill with just a small sign out and a couple of beer signs, but it's right on the ma...

Re: LUNCH 11 AM FEB. 12, COUNTRY HOME CAFE, GRANTVILLE, KS

When I got to the Country Home Cafe around 10:15 this morning, Larry2 and Larry3 were having breakfast and I thought they might be about it given the weather we were having. But by 11:00 we had a whopping total of eight who ventured out in this mess and got to Grantville. Good to see Mick back with...

LUNCH 11 AM FEB. 12, COUNTRY HOME CAFE, GRANTVILLE, KS

Just like last time, it's been over a year since we've been to the Country Home Cafe, and like Mick said last time we should go there more often. It's a location easy to get to with great food, it just isn't the most interesting motorcycle ride when the weather is good--but then of course you can a...

Re: LUNCH 11 AM Feb. 5, HENRY'S GRILL, TOPEKA, KS

Whoever thought we'd be talking with a salesman at a Harley shop about electric motorcycles being the next big thing? Well, that's what some of us were doing today as well as browsing around at all the fun stuff and some eyeball-popping price tags on "high end" bikes--but no buyers today ...

LUNCH 11 AM Feb. 5, HENRY'S GRILL, TOPEKA, KS

Shucks it looks like Old Man Winter is going to be coming back around by Wednesday again and he's not going to leave anytime soon just because old men with motorcycles would like that. At least we may have some decent weather for awhile this weekend and some of us might luck up and get a little dab...

Re: LUNCH 11 AM JAN. 29, AUNT NETTER'S CAFE, LECOMPTON, KS

Was yet another lousy day for motorcycles and driving in general, while we did have 13 make it which is over twice the number we had last week. So the weather must be getting better even if it doesn't look like it or feel like it! Oh, and this time we did have one "rider" even if it was t...

LUNCH 11 AM JAN. 29, AUNT NETTER'S CAFE, LECOMPTON, KS

Looks like the best riding day next week will be Monday when darn it there's no ROMEO lunch but I wouldn't be surprised if a bike or two is out there somewhere doing a little pie hunting. For Wednesday though the forecast only looks a little bit better than last Wednesday, which wasn't good at all....

Re: LUNCH 11 AM, Jan. 22, Mulligan's BBQ, Meriden KS

Not much of a motorcycle day to say the least, actually not a real good day to be driving anything except maybe for road treatment crews getting overtime. We had a grand total of 6 today (half again as many as last Jan. at Mulligan's) however the good news is that we did manage to have one attendin...

LUNCH 11 AM, Jan. 22, Mulligan's BBQ, Meriden KS

Weather-wise looks like it's going to be a "balmy" day compared to the last time we went to Mulligan's during the month of January...but by that I mean temps in the 30's maybe even low 40's. So it's pretty safe to say they won't have any frozen plumbing like last January when it was sub-z...

Re: LUNCH 11 AM JANUARY 15, Banjo's Cafe, Pauline, Ks

Weather-wise it wasn't a day like last week, but 23 did get to Banjo's with the majority on 4 wheels and arriving for breakfast rather than lunch. Some of us who got there between 10:30 and 11:00 did get the chicken fried steak special and were not disappointed! That's a lot better than last Januar...

Yes forecast improved so maybe we'll get at least a few riders. Whatever you hop on or in to get there it's going to be nice and warm at Banjo's.

Romeo Store open again for two weeks

Joe, if you can't to go directly to the link it might have something to do with the ROMEO website itself being "red flagged" as non-https (means it's not a high-security type of site, but then it doesn't need to be for what we use it for). At least that seems to be the case on mine. If you...

LUNCH 11 AM JANUARY 15, Banjo's Cafe, Pauline, Ks

Unless the forecast changes considerably our lucky streak of Wednesdays good enough to get lots of motorcycles out in the dead of winter just might be over, at least for awhile. Banjo's in Pauline is just a short trip for most of us (real short if you're in Topeka) but the food is worth going some ...

Re: LUNCH 11AM JANUARY 8, FAJITAS, OSKALOOSA KS

I believe we had 31 in all at Osky today, 29 rode, one towed, and Mick would have rode but he's got an arm out of commission. So many motorcycles in Fajitas parking lot looked like it was a spring day even though most of the morning was both cold and a bit windy. So I guess it only takes lots of su...

LUNCH 11AM JANUARY 8, FAJITAS, OSKALOOSA KS

We haven't been to Fajitas since last April, and believe it or not we just might once again (per the forecast right now) get something that's akin to halfway decent riding weather for January anyway. Or maybe not. Regardless it sounds like a good time to head for Osky since we haven't done Mexican ...

Re: New Year's Lunch 11 AM Jan. 1, Green Acres Restaurant, Vassar, KS

Think we had close to 30 total at Green Acres today, some for breakfast and some for lunch, which was right in line with Mick's estimate when he made a reservation for the back room over a month ago. It's a good thing he did because Green Acres had plenty of customers both ROMEO and otherwise dinin...

Re: LUNCH 11 AM DECEMBER 18, SOMMERSET HALL CAFE, DOVER, KS

We didn't have any motorcycle riders today since it stayed well below freezing this morning. Larry3 who has been known to ride in 0 degrees almost did, but he decided against it due to ice he'd have to traverse getting to the highway (smart move). So note below the rare picture of Larry3 getting ou...
