Re: Old Church and cemetery

Actually I got it mixed up myself  Now that's a senior moment when it's your own picture and you get it wrong

When I posted it was thinking it was at St Marys but actually it's the church at St Benedict. Wife is the one who took them.

Re: Old Church and cemetery

Ok Roger here's a slightly harder one...you have to identify it from the INside :o

Hint 1: It's not Amish   :D

Hint 2: NE KS Romeo group has been VERY close to it on previous ride(s) :?:

Re: Tire Source

Yep I'm guessing he'd be more than happy to sell a tire for anything on 2 wheels (or 3 for that matter). Looks like he's paying overhead on a brick-&-mortar storefront with what amounts to a moonlighting job (check the business hours). In this "handout nation" we're living in today you...

Re: Tire Source

Thanks Polish. I was mistaken--looks like it caters to the HD/cruiser crowd more than CR's. I didn't see any tire prices.

Maybe $80 for dino juice is reasonable compared to what Harley dealers charge nowadays  I'll keep changing my own.

Re: Tire Source

Oh so that's the name of it

CR is a squid acronym for "crotch rocket" (those things do use lots of tires).

Then I guess it could also just be the owner's initials :?:

Re: Tire Source

I assume CR means crotchrocket?

Since there are hundreds of listings for "CR" at acronymfinder.com you might want to spell it out for us old farts whose riding careers precede the existence of DC's

Re: My first ever Flat!!!

I'd say you're a lucky guy to go that long! Been riding 38 years, dunno how many 6-figure miles, and have had my share of flats. Most were in the early years. They either make 'em more puncture resistant these days or I'm more careful. Last one was about 12 years ago...knocking on plastic-covered wo...

Yep if you were there, then you've already seen it, but myself I think photos are a good thing for other people. For one thing they help to show website visitors we're not of the "one bike or take a hike" persuasion. Once they see pics of all those different bikes lined up, people will fee...

FirstGear MeshTex XLT hot weather jacket like-new $75

This is the same very breathable riding jacket New Enough (motorcyclegear.com) currently has on sale for $115. Color is black and silver. Nothing wrong with it. I wear an XL-Tall in some jackets but this one doesn't fit me real well so I've worn it very little and it looks like new. Comes with a rem...

Re: IRONBUTT Have you ever thought about doing an Ironbutt

A 1,000 mile day is no doubt a long day of riding. But I have to wonder if the old days rides were not more difficult than today's rides. In the old days we rode smaller bikes, smaller dispacements, no cruise control, many unfaired... 1,000 is a long ride, but not like 1,000 mile of yore. IMO of co...

Re: IRONBUTT Have you ever thought about doing an Ironbutt

...Bob Diehl and I witnessed the end of the Hyder Seek 2007 where IronButt members ride the event celebrating the culmination of Ron Ayres' 49-state ride... Did Hyder Seek in '05 but not the "49-in-10" option. At least one couple didn't get there cuz they bit the dust attempting it. You s...

Re: 6/12 Tues Plattsburg Miguel & Lefty's

Why not look at a map, or use mapquest or google earth to map the route??? It will show mileage from your location and estimated time to get there. Seems simple enough. I do all of the above but still think the tinyurl's are very convenient. Not essential, but convenient. Not being from these parts...

Re: IRONBUTT Have you ever thought about doing an Ironbutt

>Frankly, this was the most dangerous and dumbest ride I've every participated in.< Yep there's a fine line between "IronButt" and "DumbAss" and you guys crossed it. No offense because I have too (Bun Burner through Death Valley area--nearly passed out from the heat). First-timer...

Re: IRONBUTT Have you every thought about doing an Ironbutt

Good job Roger and congrats to all the new Iron Butts! You guys made excellent time and sounds like Steve is already chomping at the bit to join the Mile Eaters. From what he wrote, y'all encountered the "ogre" of I-70 across KS (brutal crosswind) that can make a 1000-mile day no picnic ev...

Re: IRONBUTT Have you every thought about doing an Ironbutt

Hey Roger, For those interested, you can now count multiple IBA-certified rides toward Mile Eater Bronze, Silver or Gold. So you still might want to keep receipts, log, witness form etc on that upcoming ride as if you were going to turn it in --just in case you want to use it later toward one of tho...
