Re: MAY 18TH, LUNCH 11:00 AM, KIRCKWOOD & CO. TABLE & TAP, HIGHLAND, KS.

Decided to enjoy the nice day riding through the Glacial Hills area and Atchison N. Saw the sight to Highland and rode there. This restaurant was started in 2019, it's still "new" looking, appears to be very well laid out. Menu has a good selection, pretty reasonably priced and service tod...

Tod's in Gardener

FYI Coordinators, I noticed that Tod's Diner in Gardener is no longer in business, and Google shows it is permanently closed.
BUT I drove by the location recently and now the place is called The Trails. So, keep this in mind if you are thinking of scheduling a ride to Gardener.

Sad Loss

Dale Walksler, Wheels Through Time founder, passed yesterday 2/3/21. Those of us fortunate enough to stop by Maggie Valley, NC West of Ashville, may have met Dale working on an old bike. I saw him on Chasing Classic Cars at bike auctions, all over the place. What a loss, his enthusiasm was unbelieva...

Kai, we met several years ago but not since. I have been wondering how you are doing and it sounds like you have promising results so far. Hope that continues and you are able to get back on your bike. Best of luck!

Motorcycle Museum, Grove, OK

Some Romeo's may know about this but "Second Kick Cycle Works" museum is downtown on 3rd Street in Grove, OK, just E of the main stop light. It opened in 2015 founded by Jim Serage who used to race (Jim owns Zap Plumbing in Grove). The Museum includes a Deli called "Checkered Past&quo...

Bentonville, AR BMW DEALERSHIP

Today I learned that Bentonville BMW will close permanently at the end of Sept. Jerry, and Bob May, the owners are good guys. Business has been off with on-line purchases hurting them, and their head shop tech took another job recently. There are lots of options now for bikes that fit every need. BM...

I had an MX5 Miata, PRHT with paddle shifters. Most fun car I ever had, and at convenience stores more women than imaginable stopped to tell me how nice my car was! Maybe they meant me? I like to think so. Enjoy.

CO Ride and tire

Rode around parts of WY and much of CO the past 8 days. Needed a rear tire on my VStrom650. Decided to try to find a shop open on Monday, usually all are closed. Did find Aces open in Ft. Collins getting there around 10am. Everyone who worked there spoke, some even got me coffee! The parts mgr went ...

If you ride through the Indian Reservation be certain to watch for speed limit changes and do not speed. Speeders are a target for Reservation Police. FWIW.

Butler Deli, Miller Kafe

Had occasion to stop in Butler, MO at the Koehn Deli and Bakery. Glad I did. Made to order sandwichs ala Subway, but better and cheaper, AND some fantastic bakery items. This is an Amish or Mennonite business. Well worth the stop. Also stopped at the Hangar Kafe located in Miller, MO at the small a...

Not only is Terry skilled at stone/brick work, he is also EXCELLENT at preparing "critter" and I have been lucky in the past at several bike rally's to share in his feasts around the campfire. Very generous and talented guy.
