Romeo ride out and lunch

Dear all Apologies for the long delay in talking to you all but I had a serious head injury after a very low speed accident as a pillion while touring Morocco in 2017 and spent the last year without a licence, just in case of seizures, before finally getting it back this March. Good to be back on a ...

Shoreham Airport 14th September

One of our group is currently taking flying lessons on helicopters at Shoreham Airport in Sussex. The airport has a beautiful Art Deco main building and Jeff, the pupil, suggested it might make a good venue for this month's Romeo run. Shoreham 8.jpg Although not visible in this picture the interior ...

Henry VIII pub at Hever 22nd June

We decided to go to Hever this time to the Henry VIII pub which is situated opposite Hever Castle, the home of Anne Boleyn. This is a Shepherd Neame pub which has an excellent range of beers and is well worth a visit.

Wesson's (formerly Ogri) Cafe Sept 15 2016

This is the September 2016 British Romeos' outing to Wesson's Cafe (formerly Ogri's cafe) situated in Horam, East Sussex. Ogri was a cartoon character who appeared in 'Bike' magazine and was drawn by Paul Sample who took his inspiration from the British bikers prevalent in the 1950s-1970s before the...

Parrothead We just came back from a 1657 mile ride through Scotland with occasional rain, hot sunshine and stunning scenery. the history is amazing from the Borders up to the Western Isles and if you like you can wrap your tongue round the Gaelic place names. The good thing is you can get from one e...

Re: July Romeo Lunch

Not only does that sound very painful, I'm sure it did your manhood no good whatsoever. Still, its all about character, or so people would have us believe. We met a journalist called Dave Minton on a Krauser Rallye in 1983, and he told us about travelling to the South of France with a motorcyclist h...

Re: July Romeo Lunch

'Who wanted to be nice indeed?' I'm sure the memories will always be better than the realities, as I remember stories of people getting up an hour early to make sure of getting to work on time in case the bike didn't want to start, or who had to take all their bike gear off as the exertions in tryin...

Re: July Romeo Lunch

Just to say none of us has ever been there either so photos will definitely be taken. I suppose you are all familiar with the legends about 'doing the ton' on the Great North Road or A1, then on the new in 1959 M1 as it had no speed limit. There is also a story about putting a 45 on the juke box, th...

Re: 2011 MILEAGE REPORT

I don't think here in the dear old British Isles we could do anything like that mileage, even with a fair wind, no breakdowns and amazing weather. However, if we lived in California, we could regularly take trips up to the Rockies, down Route 66, into Baja if we were brave enough, and maybe Death Va...
