Re: Mandy Keeler

I'm so sorry hear of Mandy's passing. She was a sweet and beautiful lady. May God give you peace and comfort in this hard time.

NO North Central Kansas Weekly Ride 12/27/23

It looks like the weatherman gave us the traditional "white Christmas" and he intends to keep it around for a while. So, with the forecast for the rest of the week I decided to sit it out till next year.

The weatherman is promising a pretty good day for December. The high is supposed to be pushing 60*. It's been a little short of a year since our last visit here, but it's always been good in the past. It looks like tomorrow is going to shape up to a good day. Unfortunately I'll have to sit this one ...

It looks like the weather is just hovering around our 50* cut off. So to avoid going shack wacky, I'm figuring on falling back on our bad weather alternative. The high for Wednesday is forecast to be 50* but it won't reach that until around 3:00. So I guess it's the cafeteria at K State. Time 12:30 ...

It looks like the cooler weather is upon us. So I'm keeping this one close. We were last here about a year ago and it's always been a good stop. If I can keep one of my bikes running I should be able to make it. We're looking at a high of 54* for the day so dress warm. It looks like the forecast is ...

Here's one I've been looking at for quite some time, but the weather hasn't been very cooperative. Usually too hot. It's a pretty good hike but Wednesday is supposed to be a good day with a high of 70*. I know I'm kind of rolling the dice on this one, relying on a forecast a week out, but I think th...

Welcome aboard Ricardo. Look forward to meeting you. I'll be riding an old maroon Suzuki GS650L with a dog carrier on the back for my riding buddy Fritz.

Here's one we haven't visited for a while. The venue is pretty small so we may have to kind of filter through, but as I recall the food was great. The owner is of Mediterranean decent and the food is typical of that area. I received many complements on the food on our last trip and I must say that I...

It looks like winter is back. The temperature is flirting with out 50* cut off, So I'm keeping this one close. We haven't been here since July of last year. It's usually a good ride, just be ware of their Pavement Pounder, unless you haven't eaten for about a week. ;) I just looked at the forecast f...

Looking at the weather, Wednesday is looking pretty shaky. Monday looks best, but since we had a late ride this week I didn't want to get too early next week. Tuesday is looking pretty doable, so I got us set up with a place that came to my attention by way of Lyle Huncovsky (I hope I got that right...

I've had this one on on the back burner waiting for some cooler weather. It's a little longer hike. About 40 miles west of Mankato. I've heard that their food is really good and since the heat wave is over I thought I'd give this one a shot. We're doing this one on THURSDAY because Monday through We...

There it is folks. Next week's ride. It's a good time and good food. Not to mention you'll see a LOT of great old bikes. For more details see the post by roginoz just prior to this one. This past weekend was a comedy of errors. It seemed that I had the reverse Midas touch. Everything I worked on tur...

This is one of my favorites. It's a long ride, but worth the trip. This is the week of the ROMEO rendezvous in Arkansas and the guys from the Wichita area who aren't going there invited us to join them for a joint ride. It's been just a year since our last visit. This is always a popular place. If y...

John Crandall update

I paid John Crandall a visit today. Things are looking good. He's up and around, albeit with a walker. Understandable being so soon after a hip replacement. He has a physical therapist coming by to help in his recovery. He's in great spirits and appears to be well on the mend.

John Crandall update

Good news! I just heard from Jim Langford and he told me that John is coming home today. The surgery went well and the occupational therapist said he was able to jump through all the necessary hoops to demonstrate that he is well enough to come home. So he won't need to go to a convalescent home to ...

John Crandall accident

I just heard from Jim Langford that John Crandall had a mishap while working in his garage. Apparently he was changing a light bulb when he fell off his ladder and broke his hip. He's in the hospital and they are going to do a hip replacement. He's likely to be laid up for a few weeks. I understand ...
