Re: MAY 1ST, BREAKFAST OR LUNCH, 10 AM, WESTON CAFE, WESTON, MO‬

Well, the day turned out just as I expected, no precipitation and 75º! In making my way to Weston this morning I thought I might not get there until lunch time with all the traffic delays and obstacles I encountered. But I arrived just a little after 10am with bells on my toes! It was good to see a...

MAY 1ST, BREAKFAST OR LUNCH, 10 AM, WESTON CAFE, WESTON, MO‬

It’s been a long time since we’ve been to the Weston Cafe in Weston, MO. I’ve been itching to do this ride for some time now. I’m assuming most of us have been here before and it needs no introduction. With that being said, the Weston Cafe is known for its delicious menu options and warm hospitalit...

Re: APRIL 24TH, LUNCH ONLY, 11:00 AM, FROGGY’S, SAINT MARY’S, KS‬

It was beautiful day to ride today, enough so to take an unexpected detour to Froggy’s. Yes, about a 30 mi scenic tour around Perry lake to get back to Hwy 24. Oh well, it’s all about the ride, right? We still made pretty good time and made it to lunch only 15 minutes late. The beauty of Romeos . ....

APRIL 24TH, LUNCH ONLY, 11:00 AM, FROGGY’S, SAINT MARY’S, KS‬

Our next Wednesday’s pick is Froggy’s in St. Mary’s, Ks. We are no strangers here. The weather will be in the upper 60’s to make a nice day’s ride. Many of us already know that Froggy’s provides a warm and inviting atmosphere while offering a menu with wide variety, from a traditional breakfast, to...

Re: APRIL 17TH, 10:00 AM, BREAKFAST or LUNCH, EASTON CAFE, EASTON, KS

What an eventful day! The weather couldn’t have more perfect, all sunshine and roses. Upon my arrival the house was packed with Romeo riders . . . just as I suspected on such a beautiful riding day. Today was one of those days when our trickling in one by one was almost essential, just to get every...

APRIL 17TH, 10:00 AM, BREAKFAST or LUNCH, EASTON CAFE, EASTON, KS

Any of you wondering how long it’s been since the last time we’ve been to Downtown Easton Cafe? My last recollection is February of 2023. Because so many of us are accustomed to riding to Easton’s Hill Top Cafe, I’m posting a word of caution for the sake of keeping anyone from making a common mista...

Re: APRIL 10TH, 10:00 AM, BREAKFAST or LUNCH, MARILYNN’S CAFE, OSAGE CITY, KS

My apologies for the delay. I got preoccupied over the last 24 hrs. Be that as it may, I was totally impressed again about our turnout yesterday. We had 30 bikes and at least that or more Romeo Riders! The ladies serving did a fabulous job for the many of us who showed up. They couldn’t have done a...

APRIL 10TH, 10:00 AM, BREAKFAST or LUNCH, MARILYNN’S CAFE, OSAGE CITY, KS

Just got off the phone with Rita and we’re good to go for another enjoyable Wednesday ride. It's been a while since we have been to Marilynn’s. As usual breakfast is served until 10:45 am and lunch starts at 11:00 am. Marilynn's is a small Mom & Pop cafe and a good “Go-To” place to ride. It’s a...

Re: APRIL 3RD, LUNCH or BREAKFAST, 10:00 AM, ASHLIE’S HOMESTYLE FAMILY RESTAURANT, OSKALOOSA, KS ‬

Hey gang, it was a cold damp day to ride ( I said, cold damp day, just in case anyone would interpret it otherwise ) LOL! The last count as to how many of us came was right close to two dozen. My guess this morning was that we would have less than half that number of riders today. By the way, Don S...

APRIL 3RD, LUNCH or BREAKFAST, 10:00 AM, ASHLIE’S HOMESTYLE FAMILY RESTAURANT, OSKALOOSA, KS ‬

Ashlie's Homestyle Family Restaurant is a fairly new business, having opened up in early 2022. But it’s not a new place for the Romeo Riders. We frequented this place in days gone by before its new management. I’ve had the privilege of chatting with the new owner, Denese, on several occasions, and ...

Re: MARCH 27TH, LUNCH ONLY, 10:30 AM, QUENTIN'S BBQ SIDES, BONNER SPRINGS, KS‬

It was a pretty frigid day for a Romeo ride today. Just as I expected, as the old adage goes: “ March came in like a lamb and is going out like a lion .” Riding in the “Cage” was the order of the day. I counted 3 bikes and Bob Savner rode his E-Bike from Baser! So, in spite of “ Old Man Winter ” pu...

MARCH 27TH, LUNCH ONLY, 10:30 AM, QUENTIN'S BBQ SIDES, BONNER SPRINGS, KS‬

Here’s an interesting place for next week’s pick where we’ve never been before. Quentin’s hits all the marks for flavor and quality of both their meats and sauce as well as their portions. They will open at 10:30 am just for us. According to the reviews, you can't go wrong!!!!! I think you will fin...

MARCH 20TH, BREAKFAST or LUNCH, 10:00 AM, SUMMERSET HALL CAFE, DOVER, KS‬

For this week’s pick, let’s ride to Dover, Ks. I’ve shared this before, but for those who may not be aware, I’m posting it again. Summerset Hall is an old favorite of our Romeo Riders. But what you may not know is that the new owner, Becky, is a niece to a couple that we know well, Janet & Tadd...

Re: MARCH 13TH, BREAKFAST or LUNCH, 10:00 AM, WILD BILL'S RESTAURANT, RULO, NEBRASKA

I wasn’t really sure how many would turnout for our first long ride of the year, but again, you surprised me, and what a turnout we had! It wasn’t the warmest day of the year for a long ride, but it was doable. It is always good to get together and to visit with some you who we haven’t seen in a wh...

MARCH 13TH, BREAKFAST or LUNCH, 10:00 AM, WILD BILL'S RESTAURANT, RULO, NEBRASKA

How about “Wild Bill's Restaurant” in Rulo, Nebraska, for our next week’s ride? There are some of us who are wondering when we will get back to some longer rides. The answer has been, when “Old Man Winter” breaks to warmer temperatures! So, we’re in luck this next week . . . warmer temperatures! “W...

We always love riding to Williamsburg BBQ! That’s because it’s family owned, and we are always made to feel right at home when going there. The weather couldn’t have been better. It was a little chilly starting off but then gave us all a beautiful afternoon to ride. Tim Flom joined us today from Ol...

Boy howdy! We just can’t beat the weather we’ve had for February. And March is looking equally as good. It’s predicted to be in the middle to upper 50’s next Wednesday. So, let’s just keep taking advantage of as many good days as March has to offer. This next week’s pick is Williamsburg BBQ and has...

It was a robust, chilly day but overall sunshine & roses, well maybe I’ve overstated that a bit. Let me rephrase that opening statement, all CHILLY & SUNSHINE for sure! There were a baker’s 2 dozen present and one motorcycle. Mr. Michael Herman from Shawnee wins our one and only grand prize...

Re: FEBRUARY 21TH, BREAKFAST or LUNCH, 10:00 AM, TAMMY'S BILLARD AIRPORT CAFE, TOPEKA, KS‬

It was a well-deserved time of celebration for Tammy, her daughter, and all her hardworking staff! It was interesting to see not only our 30 something Romeos, but even more impressive was seeing the turnout of all Tammy’s loyal supporting friends and customers. The house was packed for most of the ...
